o gosh.

i have not updated in forever. i am so sorry. i always forget, someone should tell me to update, maybe then i'd remember more often!

anywaysi don't feel like describing everything in the past two months. too bad for you.

this past weekend i got to see shreya!!!!yay! we ran at duke and shreya and i got to hang out on friday before my race (1500 which i pr'ed in with a 5:15 which comes out close to a 5:35 mile which for me is another pr if i had run a 1600). and then i saw her briefly on saturday. i miss her a lot. we've been almost inseperable since sixth grade. but the great thing is that when we are seperated and then see each other again things aren't weird. its like nothing has changed. which is really good since we don't see each other but for every 3 or 4 months.

running has been good. i feel so in shape--even though i'm not that fast, i still am in better shape than i was in high school, running every single day for three months can help with that (and i mean every day 7 days a week). i am getting faster, still not fast, but faster which is all i care about right now. i do miss high school running though, just cause i was a lot closer to everybody, but i guess that comes with time.

school has been ok. i only have one more week of classes and one week of finals. thank goodness. however that means its crunch time with numerous group projects and papers and tests all in the next week, followed by finals. and during finals they expect me to pack! how weird! i am packing to go home.

i don't know what i'm doing this summer. i will be back for states, so all you people better make it so i can watch you run! i could potentially spend the summer working for USATF in Indiana as an intern. Or i could spend it with my grandparents in Texas. Or i could spend it in good ol' cc. i'm really looking forward to it though, i can't wait to train hard and not have to worry about competing. also making money for next year since a lot of my local scholarships run out. i'm living on campus next year with candace as my roomy and lil' sue (my ra this year, but not next year) as my suitemate. i can't wait!

let's see what else....not too much. life's good. i'm alive. and if someone gets on me i'm sure i'll keep up with this thing.

so i really am not dead

i promise

i just don't update. ever.

but now i'm updating.

lets see the last time i updated was over christmas break. the rest of christmas break wasn't bad at all. i enjoyed seeing my grandparents. enjoyed going to disney with autumn. good times at disney, as always. michigan lost their bowl game :(.....i got a digital camera for christmas!!!!it was so exciting. going ice skating was amazing! i had soooo much fun. um, let's see....o yea babysat for jillians siblings while she had her wisdom teeth pulled. she had a swollen mouth when she got back and she passed out before i even got to see her! then i left the next day.

so the update for winthrop.

that first week was slow and boring, just cause the first day of classes are never interesting. this semester i am taking event management, history of sport, critical reading thinking and writing, nutrition, yoga!, and computer science. My favorite classes are crtw and history of sport, least favorite is computer science. easiest yoga and nutrition. and i only have one class on fridays, which is good cause almost every single friday this semester i am gone for track. which sucks because josh kelley is coming to charlotte on the 17th......a friday. and my sister is coming down on a weekend, but i can't see her cause i'll be in freaking virginia.blah! that means i won't have seen her for a whole year!

track is going ok. my times aren't very fast. which makes me sad. but coach assures me they will drop. he even thinks i can get down under 2:20. which would be amazing. and i would like a lot. but i'm not sure how realistic that is. meets are fun, even if i don't get a lot of work done. o and i got second with the DMR at the last meet. i got a spike bag as my prize. which was cool!

one thing i don't like about college. i don't get to read for fun anymore. right now i'm in the middle of lance armstrong's second book "every second counts" but i don't get very far cause i never have time to read it. it makes me sad :(

so thats the update. for now. maybe i'll update again soon. maybe not

i am so bored.

i can't wait to go back to school.

i have been home a week and i have not done anything extremely interesting.

i think the best part of being home has been seeing jillian today and having cassandra tell me that i'm more nicer, more dressier, and more mature than jillian....take that jillian! jk you know i love you.

so please someone save me from my boredom.....maybe its a good thing i'm not coming home for spring break.

http://www.usatf.org/routes/map/

check that out.......its amazing. you can map out your running routes, so you know how far you're going! amazing right! (yes yes i'm a dork i don't care, i think this is amazing!)

anyways, i ate solid food today! and i didn't feel sick afterwards i had oatmeal for breakfast! yay for oatmeal! and soup and crackers for lunch. and why is this a big deal? cause since tuesday night i have eaten, in order: bowl of oatmeal, muffin, bottle of gatorade mixed with a bottle of water, ten crackers, five crackers, two pieces of toast with jelly, a cookie, a cup of soup, and then todays food. and i have only eaten this much because i had a stomach virus. and couldn't eat without feeling sick. so i think i should celebrate eating solid food and keeping it down.

in other news, thanksgiving was awesome! and there are only 12 days til i'm back home again. wait 11. or twelve. i don't know.

and if you want more of an update, im me sometime!

hey i just sent this to a bunch of people--if it didn't get to you, either your e-mail address didn't work, or i don't have it, so give it to me and i'll send you one next time

Hey all!

Well, here I am in South Carolina, procrastinating on studying for my Sport Management midterm tomorrow at eight. Its only 9:15, so I still have time. It’s been kind of a blah day here—most people are studying and such. It’s cloudy out, and people are just ready for fall break, which is in one week!

So school has definitely settled in—its hard to believe I’ve been here for almost two months. I can’t wait until thanksgiving when I get to see everyone again. I miss you all so much.

But I am having so much fun here. Cross country is going pretty good. We definitely have run every single day since I’ve been here. It’s quite a record for me—two months straight with no days off. My times have been decent (with the exception of last Saturday). I pr’ed in my first 6k—and my 5k time in the 6k was five seconds off my pr. This was in Pennsylvania, which was amazing. An extremely long bus ride, but worth it; I got to see Leela Hadsock, whom I haven’t seen in quite some time and really missed running against. We also stopped at an Amish farm and were fed the most amazing food of my life—all of it homemade and homegrown, the bread, the peanut butter, the meat, the dessert. I don’t think I’ve ever eaten so much in my life, not even at thanksgiving. The girls on the team are extremely nice—and I even have a twin up here…or so everyone says, we however don’t think we look that much alike. The guys on the team are cool—they eat soooo much, I have no idea where they put it. Seriously, they eat at LEAST one plate from each of our food stations (numbering five).

The girls on my floor are absolutely amazing. My RA is so sweet and up for a talk at any time—even at 2 am in the morning. My Swedish roommate is so incredibly nice and puts up with all my early morning habits quite nicely—which is saying something cause if my roommate woke up two hours earlier than me every day with an alarm and all I might have to hurt somebody. I’ve learned that Florida is not in the South, not even close—its somewhere in the north, despite all the maps. The girls from South Carolina definitely point it out every opportunity. Us out-of-staters (Florida, Missouri, Maryland, Georgia, and others) hang out on the weekends when everybody goes home. We make sure we avoid Thompson Cafeteria as much as possible, we try to have something to do besides homework on Saturday nights, and we try not to miss everyone too much.

Classes are quite interesting—when I manage to stay awake. My favorite would have to be Economics, surprisingly; although that is probably due to the fact that I a) hardly fall asleep in that class and b) the teacher is extremely amusing (who’d of thought that economics could be fun?). A close second would be my Intro to Sport Management, only second cause it is an 8 o clock in the morning class.

The school here is beautiful. Right now the temperature is just perfect, our window is open all the time to soak up the wonderful weather while we can. And despite the fact that it has rained a total of five times since I’ve been here, everything still looks like fall—the leaves are starting to turn colors! The people on campus are so friendly, and if I want to hang out with someone I can usually find someone to do something with.

Anyways, I just wanted to give everyone an update, and let you guys know how much I miss you! Keep in touch!

Love,

Amy

omg, so i just got back from the Josh Kelley Concert!

it started off kinda bad, we left late, hit red lights, forgot to bring the directions, got lost, hit more red lights, getting there a half hour after we had originally planned.

but, we walked in got our tickets and this guy goes "do you guys wanna participate in a meet and greet?" and courtney(my friend who drove) and I go "ummmm....ummm...yea" so we got to talk and hang out with josh kelley and mike tolcher for fifteen whole minutes before the show. and it was us and like 8 other people and josh and mike. it was soo awesome! i can't believe i met josh kelley. I MET JOSH KELLEY! and i got him to sign stuff and omg, i cant believe i shook his hand, introduced myself and got to talk with him. thats just crazy!

so then we went and watched the concert. it was awesome. just awesome! the first band was ok. michael tolcher was pretty good. josh was awesome, just as good live if not better than his recordings. he has such a great dynamic with the crowd. it was smallish like 250. but he definitely was talking to us, having a good time, much better than if he was a big-time singer. he was soo nice!

o and i got a shirt

(if you couldn't tell i just had one of the best nights ever!)

sorry i haven't updated in a loooong time....this college life is so busy! homework, practices, classes, friends, and other stuff

i'll start off with my birthday

i turned 18! and i opened my presents at 12:01...cause i'm cool like that. i don't really remember what i got, money, a mug and cute little puppy dog (stuffed), candy, two movies, and cards. thankyou to all of you who sent me cards! it made my day! anyways, woke up and felt sick :( i had a sore throat and stuffy nose, not fun. went to classes, came back and did something (i can't remember), went running, showered, went over to the cc girls house where we had spaghetti and cake. came back to the dorms and had cake. nothing extremely exciting. i was actually kinda homesick then, so it wasn't that much fun. but i recovered.

that sunday, the 28th, was my roommates birthday, she turned twenty. anyways, in the morning i went for a long run at the greenway(remember this place, it comes up later) and tripped and fell, but no harm done, just a slight bruise on my shin. then i camehome showered, and spent the rest of the day with emelie (my roommate) and her family. we ate a pf changs, it was actually really good. then we went shopping, or browsing rather and came back to the dorms. i then had an athletic meeting which was really boring.

nothing else really happened that week, school, practice, sleep, eat. nothing extremely exciting

that friday (sept 2nd) i left for my first college meet. watched anchorman on the way to the meet (i know so many people who would be proud of me for finally watching it). got to the hotel, changed, went to the course and ran it easy, went back to the hotel, changed, went to dinner. this dinner took forever. it took them an hour to get us our food, and we had reservations! stupid people! anyways, interesting stuff from the dinner- seth (one of the guys on the team) is really romantic-too bad he has a girlfriend. gaines, brad and marcus can eat anything and everything-they finished everyones leftovers. we were so hungry that we almost started eating the plants. pretty much sums it up. o and we got free stuff on the way up--aka our uniforms, sports bra, bag, spikes all the good stuff

saturday-race day. woke up, went to the course, and waited. my parents and bro showed up :) we watched the guys race. they kicked ass- 6 in the top 10. kicked ass. then we warmed up and raced. i ran a 17:20 for a 4k, which ends up being 21:40 for a 5k if i kept the same pace. which is good for me for this time of year, but i want to go faster this weekend. after the meet we went up to duke to see SHREYA!!!!i was so excited. she doesn't know her campus very well, dork! but i love her. we got lost, we got a ticket, and then shreya and i hung out for awhile at her dorm. it was nice. then we left, ate at applebee's. my daddy got mad. get this he goes "so brook seems nice" and i was like, yea she is. (brook being a teammate of mine). then he goes "shreya seems nice too". well i blew up. i go "yea, cause i've known her since sixth grade, i hope she would SEEM nice. try she is nice." and he thinks i blew it out of proportion, but whatever. came back home. parents stayed for awhile, ruining an evening i could've spent with marcus (guy on the team), but i still love em.

sunday-woke up (first time i got to sleep in since i'd been at WU) and went out to breakfast. then to wal-mart to get a ton of food. which i needed. and the new josh kelley cd. then went back to the dorm, unloaded, and headed to practice at the greenway. parents left. while at the greenway i fell and scraped my knee and my hand a little bit, nothing too bad.

tuesday the 6th- practice, classes, practice, then off to davidson! courtney (a girl on my floor) had to go to davidson for a class thing, and so i went with her so i could see dj. we just walked around and talked, but we had fun. i miss people from home. plus they have hott guys there! (so does duke, why did my school get screwed?) but we had fun, imissed him. came back went to sleep

thursday-first college exam--i'm thinking i got a 80? maybe i'll be lucky if i get that, but i know next time what she expects us to know. then movie night. we watched supertroopers with the guys from richardsons 2nd floor. which was fun

and now to this weekend, which i'll copy and paste from mine and meghan's conversation
i went to a volleyball game on friday, came home iced my legs, woke up saturday, went for a five mile tempo run, came back showered, went to wal-mart, watched the michigan game, went to dinner, went to another volleyball game, watched the movie Crash over at tillman, came home, slept in for an hour today, went running, fell and hurt myself, came back showered, went to lunch, went outside and did homework, came back and went to study hall for four hours, came back, had dinner, and talked to you (meghan) and now i'm typing this

so today's run sucked. 80 minutes, which wasn't bad, except halfway through i fell and hurt myself pretty badly. i scraped the skin off part of my shin, my shoulder, my hand, right below my elbow, and my knee. i can't cross my legs, or sleep on my shoulder, or shave, or put anything over the scraped parts, the t-shirt i'm wearing right now hurts. so today hasnt been that great. but whatever. and michigan lost yesterday to notre dame, which totally stinks cause now nick has bragging rights for another year! i can't believe it! whatever, we'll get em next year.

and to end on a good note, mark this date on your calendars-Sept. 22....i willbe going to the josh kelley concert in charlotte!!!!!i get to see josh kelley live!!!! i can't wait!!!!!1 thats going to be so much fun!

o and ihave a home meet this weekend, and davidson is coming, so i'll get to see dj again.

i miss everyone sooooo much!
